Every Canucks fan wants a late-first-round steal, but Stanley Cup contenders are built on players who drive winning hockey every single night. In this video, we break down 5 high-floor prospects the Vancouver Canucks should target with the 24th overall pick in the 2026 NHL Draft.
While they might not be the flashiest highlight-reel names in the class, these five players possess the habits, hockey intelligence, and pro-level traits that translate into long, successful NHL careers. From towering power centres to two-way defensive anchors, we look at the names who could safely bolster the Canucks' prospect pipeline and provide reliable depth down the middle.
Should Vancouver play it safe with a high-floor player, or swing for the fences at the end of the first round?
In this episode, we discuss:
✅ Why the Canucks Need "High-Floor" Players
✅ Alexander Command (Örebro J20) | The Prototypical Pro Centre
✅ Ilia Morozov (Miami Univ.) | The Smart, Middle-Six Fit
✅ Maddox Dagenais (Québec Remparts) | Size & Upward Trajectory
✅ Brooks Rogowski (Oshawa Generals) | The 6’7” Power Centre
✅ Jack Hextall (Youngstown Phantoms) | Dependable Two-Way Machine
