The Vancouver Canucks wrap up their homestand tonight at Rogers Arena against the Minnesota Wild in what promises to be one of the most emotional games of the season: the return of former captain Quinn Hughes!
Welcome back to The Line Change for your complete Gameday Report and game preview for Sunday, October 25, 2026.
Today we break down everything you need to know ahead of Canucks vs. Wild, including:
🏒 Quinn Hughes Returns to Vancouver: Former Canucks captain Quinn Hughes returns to Vancouver for the first time since being traded. We react to his comments in Seattle on his gratitude for Vancouver, his time as captain, and him "setting the record straight" about never giving up on the Canucks. How will the Rogers Arena crowd react tonight?
🔥 Lineup Shakeup: Manny Malhotra shakes up the forward lines! Elias Pettersson and Brock Boeser are reunited on the top line with Drew O’Connor, while Liam Öhgren draws back in against the team that drafted him alongside Filip Chytil and Jonathan Lekkerimäki.
🛡️ Defence Pairings & Scratches: Jamie Oleksiak appears headed for a healthy scratch as Guillaume Brisebois pairs with Luke Schenn, while young blueliners Zeev Buium and Tom Willander look to shut down Kirill Kaprizov and Matt Boldy.
🚨 Scouting the Minnesota Wild: Minnesota rolls in on the second half of a back-to-back after facing Seattle, likely starting Calvin Pickard in goal. Can Vancouver's defense contain the red-hot Kaprizov?
