With Thatcher Demko sidelined and Kevin Lankinen stepping into the starter's role, the Vancouver Canucks face a massive goaltending dilemma heading into the 2026-27 NHL season. With Vancouver holding top priority on the NHL waiver wire, GM Ryan Johnson has a golden opportunity to upgrade the team's goalie depth.
In this episode, we discuss:
✅ Vancouver Canucks’ current goaltending depth & Thatcher Demko injury update
✅ Why holding the #1 NHL waiver wire priority gives the Canucks a massive advantage
✅ Dylan Garand scouting report & why the NY Rangers could place him on waivers
✅ Nikita Tolopilo’s future: Can Vancouver waive Tolopilo to the Abbotsford Canucks?
✅ Other potential waiver targets, including Devon Levi, Remi Poirier, and Leevi Merilainen
✅ How Ryan Johnson can fix the Canucks' crease for both the present and the future
Could Dylan Garand challenge Kevin Lankinen for starts, if the Canucks were to acquire him on waivers or do you think the Canucks should stick with Nikita Tolopilo?
