The Vancouver Canucks are facing their most consequential offseason yet, and at the center of it all is Elias Pettersson. After signing a massive eight-year, $11.6 million AAV extension, EP40’s performance has seen an unprecedented decline. From a 102-point superstar to a player struggling to drive a line, the questions are mounting: Has Pettersson fundamentally changed? And more importantly—should the Canucks explore a trade?
In this episode, we discuss:
✅ The "Pettersson Problem": Why his skating and dynamic rush attacking have vanished.
✅ The Cultural Fit: Insider reports on management's concerns regarding his preparation and work ethic.
✅ The Trade Market: Asking NHL executives if that $11.6M contract is actually movable
✅ The Salary Cap Savior: How the NHL’s skyrocketing cap might be the only thing that saves this deal for Vancouver.
Is it time to reset the culture and move on, or is a bounce-back season inevitable if he gets the right wingers? Let us know who YOU want the Canucks to take!
